Instructions
Everything you need to read your tracking signals and protect your own inbox - in two short lessons.
1. Email tracking
How to read the circle and checkmark next to your sent mail.
01Send normally
Write and send email exactly as you always do. Tracking is inserted automatically on send - there is nothing extra to click.
02Circle means tracked
A small circle next to a sent message means the email is tracked and waiting to be opened.
03Checkmark means opened
When the recipient opens your email, the circle becomes a checkmark. In Gmail threads and replies, checkmarks may appear beside the message date.
04Hover for details
Hover over a checkmark to see the view count and last open time. Pro accounts also see link click stats, IP address, and geolocation.
05Open the popup
Click the Email Tracker icon in your browser toolbar to open your full activity feed and settings.
2. Detector & Blocker
See who is tracking you, and shut them out. Included with Pro.
01Open any email
If the message contains known tracking pixels, the detector icon appears and lists which of the 40+ known tracker services were found.
02Blocked trackers are highlighted
With blocking enabled, detected trackers are blocked before they load and highlighted in the message.
03Tune it in settings
Enable or disable detection and blocking independently, and add custom rules for senders or services you always want blocked or allowed.
Important notes
- Emails sent only to yourself may not register opens - most webmail clients skip loading images for your own messages.
- Other webmail extensions can conflict with pixel insertion.
- If something looks broken, disable other extensions, refresh the webmail tab, and try again.
